Indications/Uses
Tonic clonic (grand mal) & partial (focal) seizures.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Administration
May be taken with or without food.
Contraindications
Severe hepatic or renal impairment. Porphyria.
Special Precautions
Impaired hepatic, renal, cardiac or resp function. May impair ability to drive or operate machinery. Pregnancy & lactation. Infants. Elderly.
Adverse Reactions
Resp depression, sedation, allergic reactions, particularly affecting the skin, nystagmus, ataxia.
Drug Interactions
May reduce the activity of carbamazepine, coumarin anticoagulants, cyclosporin, doxycycline, phenylbutazone, metronidazole, phenytoin, quinidine, theophylline, TCAs, corticosteroids, OC, griseofulvin.
